The history.

In 1961, Jaguar unveiled what would become one of the most iconic and influential automobiles of the 1960s - The E-Type. Predating the E-Type was the XK140 and XK150 which both achieved great success and laid the groundwork for the project. The E-Type introduced a plethora of technological advancements which were all-new for sportscars of the day. The updates included an independent rear suspension which granted huge improvements in handlings, power-assisted 4 wheel disc brakes, and a monocoque chassis design,

THE CAR.

Chassis #890387

The restored 1964 Jaguar E-Type Fixed Head Coupe presented by Animoya Garage is finished in its original Pale Primrose Yellow over a full black interior. It is a matching numbers example wearing an older award winning restoration. It is a turn-key, California car from new that is ready for the show field or touring.

According to the original Warranty Booklet on file, this example was originally delivered to Mary Canning of Long Beach, California on April 6th, 1964. Shortly thereafter, the car was sold to Don Green of Lakewood, California in June of 1964. During this period the car was driven regularly before going into long term storage in 1972 with just 74,000 miles.

After its stint in storage, the next owner decided to complete a no-expense-spared restoration including a full repaint in its original Primrose Yellow and full engine rebuild. The restoration was done to an incredibly high standard and fielded multiple JCNA National Class Champion awards in 2001 and 2003. The car was known to be driven to all of the concours events it attended which is a true testament to its mechanical and cosmetic condition.

Today, this Jaguar E-Type presents as a fantastic older restoration still featuring many important original features such as the body number “8060” in chalk from the factory as well the original warning tags. We’re confident this E-Type is still capable of holding its own at any JCNA event it may attend. It has spent the last ~11 years under the careful custodians of the Academy of Art University Collection in San Francisco, California. All of the cars within the collection were maintained with an open checkbook ensuring that each and everyone of them was cosmetically and mechanically on the button.

Included in this sale is the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate, Tool set, Knock-Off Hammer, and Jack.
