The History

Originally debuting at the 1966 Geneva Salon Ferrari decided to build an alternative to the already-popular 275, for buyers who wanted a little more creature comforts and luxury to go with their sporty V12 coupe and also bridge the gap between the 330 2+2

Enter: The 330 GTC, which was essentially a cosmetically restrained, more luxurious 275. The 330 GTC was well equipped with power windows, A/C, more leather, and wood paneling throughout and still built on the shorter-wheel base of the 275 GTB.

In total, Ferrari built approximately just 600 examples, making it even rarer than the 275 in which it is based off of. In period, and even today, the 330 is renowned for its ease of use and is considered one of the best driving Ferraris ever produced.

The Car

The 1967 Ferrari 330 GTC on offer here, chassis #09945, presented by Animoya Garage, is in excellent condition, finished in stunning Celeste Blue over Beige Scuro interior and retains its original matching-numbers engine.

Completed in early 1967, this GTC was originally delivered to famed dealer Crepaldi Automobili in Milan, Italy in the very same year wearing Bleu Sera paint over a Beige Scuro interior with Blue carpets. Mr Mereghetti would be the first owner, who took delivery in May shortly after it was delivered to Crepaldi. Mereghetti would retain ownership until selling it to Herbert Maschel of Italy who then, in  December of 1974, sold the GTC to Luigi Chinetti Motors, in Greenwich, CT in the United States.

In the fall of 1975, the car would be advertised for sale in “AutoWeek” magazine with Grand Touring Cars, in Phoenix, AZ. The car promptly sold, this time heading back to Europe, specifically England, then to Mr. David. C. Nelson in Ohio, United States - then back across the sea to Switzerland. By the late 80s the GTC would be sold back to David C. Nelson, who in May of 1988 listed the car for sale in Ferrari Market Letter Volume 13, Number 10. At the time it was noted it had undergone a restoration within the last two years. In 1995 Nelson eventually would trade the car to Mark Hardymon of Delaware, OH for a 1987 Ferrari Mondial 3.2 Cabriolet. In August of 1997 the car would undergo a full mechanical overhaul as the engine and gearbox were said to be tired at that point. In 2005, the GTC ended up with Dr. Perry Mansfield of San Diego, CA who went on to display the car at the 2015 La Jolla Concours and later that year, the 13th annual “The Quail” show in Monterey, California.

In 2017 the car underwent a full restoration, the engine was done by Jens Paulson at Bill Attaway Restorations, paint was done by Social Paintworks, new upholstery was down by Gianni Benello and the full reassembly was done by Rick Cousineau and Gerry Marolda. Following the completion of chassis #09945 it went on a concours tour where it won the 2017 La Jolla Concours, then in 2018 the San Marino Concours, the Benedict Castle Concours, the Ferrari Club of San Diego, and the Las Vegas Concours. Its show circuit would culminate in 2020 with another First Place Award at the La Jolla Concours and a Platinum Award in Pasadena, CA in 2021.

The car quietly changed hands and in late 2025, Theo’s Exotic Auto carried out a full engine rebuild to the tune of $69,204.50. We acquired the 330 in late January of 2026 adding some extra dialing in and shakedown miles. In February, we shipped the car down for MODA Miami, where it was entered into the show and completed the Moda Classic, which is a Miami Police Department supported drive around the city and including laps at the famous Homestead-Miami Speedway. The drive went wonderfully and we can confirm this 330 is exceptional and drives great. The engine is strong and pulls nicely through all the gears and the clutch shifts smoothly. Brakes worked great as well and the car ran cool on the whole drive and during the 5 laps at the speedway. After bringing the car back home to Michigan it was sent to Cauley Ferrari for a fresh fluids change. Additionally, everything on the interior functioned as it should including all the gauges. This 330 GTC marks one of the best driving Ferrari’s ever built and with just 600 total units produced makes it one of the rarest V-12 models.

Included in the sale of this 330 GTC, are reproduction books, manuals, and tools, original jack and bag as well as an original spare and tire (check this), and a large stack service records.
