The history.

The Ferrari 328 was Ferrari’s successor to the Ferrari 308. Despite being mechanically based on the 308, the 328 introduced several changes to the body, chassis, and engine.

Outside of the cosmetic changes, it used the last evolution of the transversely mid-mounted Ferrari Dino engine with an increased displacement of 3.2 L. Its eight cylinders put out an increased 270 hp and 231 lb-ft (313 N⋅m) of torque, propelling the 328 GTS from 0 to 60 in 5.9 seconds. The engine was mated to a gated five-speed manual transmission with a new hydraulically-operated clutch.

The GTS version of the 328 turned the static hard top of the GTB into a removable hardtop with one full soft-top convertible having been produced as a prototype. The GTS would outsell the GTB quite heavily, by over a factor of 5. In the end, Ferrari produced 6,068 GTS variants of the 328 and just 1,344 of the GTB. The GTB’s rigidity and rarity make them a must-have for any serious Ferrari collector or enthusiast.

THE CAR.

Chassis #ZFFXA19A2G0064291

The 1986 Ferrari 328 GTB available at Animoya Garage, chassis #ZFFXA19A2G0064291 is finished in Rosso Corsa over Beige and shows just 59,720 miles.

Originally delivered to Texas, much of the early history of this 328 is unknown, however we can see that during its first 10 years the owner thoroughly enjoyed the car, putting around 44,000 miles on it. The car remained in Texas over the next decade, with some documented servicing completed in 2006 ahead of the sale to its next caretaker such as a fluid change, belt service, water pump replacement, and more. This was completed by specialists at Colvin Automotive, of Austin, TX.

In 2021, a comprehensive service was carried out by Brain Crall Company, a Ferrari Master Mechanic based out of Lakeway, TX. The owner stated he asked them to go through the car as though they were doing a pre-purchase inspection and attend to anything they find. The service included a major belt service, fluid replacement, oil cooler mounts, a new water pump, an AC conversion to R12 with all new fittings, replacement of various hoses and gaskets, and more. The grand total for the was $14,021.91.

Today, this Ferrari 328 GTB presents an opportunity to own an excellent driver quality example with up-to-date service history.  In total, Ferrari produced just 1,344 fixed-roof 328s, and well over 6000 targas, so from an investment standpoint the GTB is the clear winner, not to mention at 59,700 miles this one can be enjoyed without too much thought of miles creeping up.

Included in the sale of this 328 GTB is the books, tool kit, service records, and a clean CARFAX.
