Creating a worthy follow-up to the iconic Countach was no easy feat, doing so while also following stricter design guidelines due to an untimely buyout from Chrysler made the task that much more difficult. Yet somehow, in January of 1990, at the Hotel de Paris in Monte Carlo, the Marcello Gandini-designed Lamborghini Diablo was unveiled to the public and was an immediate success.
Though it had lost some of its sharper and radical design elements in favor of smoother lines, it retained its outrageous proportions and the iconic wedge shape which made the Countach so dramatic in the first place. Each Diablo was fitted with a mid-mounted, 5.7 liter, 485 horsepower V12 with overhead cams and 4 valves per cylinder. Due to Chrysler's takeover, the Diablo was required to give the driver at least some creature comforts compared to the Countach, that included fully adjustable seats and steering column, electric windows, and power steering. These upgrades and the stunning design proved to be a success as they produced approximately 900 examples of the standard Diablo between 1990 and 1998.
The exception U.S-delivered 1991 Lamborghini Diablo presented here, by Animoya Garage is finished Impact White (Bianco) over a full Red (Rosso) interior and displays just 12,800 original Kilometers on the odometer from new.
This Diablo was originally delivered just a few miles from our location here in Pontiac, MI to Mr. Tibor Gyarmati of Bloomfield Hills, MI. The late Mr. Gyarmati was clearly a car guy being the VP of a large dealership group in the metro Detroit region at the time of purchase. He owned the Diablo until November of 1998, selling the car with roughly 8,000 miles to a dealer in Missouri.
The next owner resided in sunny Delray Beach, Florida and purchased it roughly 1 year after its first sale. Over the course of their ownership the car was rarely used, in that period, CARFAX reports a mileage discrepancy which we believe to be a clerical error tracking the miles and kilometers at two different points and are working to resolve the issue. In 2016, the car made its way back to its original state of delivery in Michigan with its 3rd and final owner with roughly 12,000 kms.
During the 3rd owner's decade-long stint with this Diablo they took meticulous care of it. Always properly stored at the M1 Concourse Garage community hooked up to a trickle charger and only driven on special occasions in the summer months. Lamborghini Troy tackled all of the service duties under their ownership, doing regular maintenance such as oil changes and correcting the odd leak here and there. In 2026, they had Lamborghini Troy do a full fluids service ahead of the sale, oil, transmissions, brakes, and coolants are flushed and replaced as well brand new carbon fiber wiper blades which commonly delaminate on Diablos.
Today, this Diablo presents in wonderful condition and is easily the nicest Diablo we’ve ever represented and is, in our opinion, the absolute best color combination you can get. On the exterior, the paint presents in fantastic condition and all of the stickers, stampings, and etchings are in the correct places, this is truly a collector-grade diablo with no excuses.
Included in the sale of this early RWD Diablo is the original owner’s manual, original quarter-window monroney sticker, service records, and clean CARFAX.
