The history.
Creating a worthy follow-up to the iconic Countach was no easy feat, doing so while also following stricter design guidelines due to an untimely buyout from Chrysler made the task that much more difficult. Yet somehow, in January of 1990, at the Hotel de Paris in Monte Carlo, the Marcello Gandini-designed Lamborghini Diablo was unveiled to the public and was an immediate success.
Though it had lost some of its sharper and radical design elements in favor of smoother lines, it retained its outrageous proportions and the iconic wedge shape which made the Countach so dramatic in the first place. Each Diablo was fitted with a mid-mounted, 5.7 liter, 485 horsepower V12 with overhead cams and 4 valves per cylinder. Due to Chrysler's takeover, the Diablo was required to give the driver at least some creature comforts compared to the Countach, that included fully adjustable seats and steering column, electric windows, and power steering. These upgrades and the stunning design proved to be a success as they produced approximately 900 examples of the standard Diablo between 1990 and 1998.

THE CAR.
Chassis #ZA9DU07P1NLA12570
The early Lamborghini Diablo presented here at Animoya Garage is finished in Rosso over a Tan interior with red piping, displaying just 17,600 km from new. This example has had three owners and was initially delivered to Motorcars International in Florida where it was sold to a gentleman who lived on Grand Cayman Island. It saw minimal use throughout its first decade of life accumulating only 7,000 kilometers before being traded back to Motorcars International where it then sold to its second owner in California circa 2002. It remained in California for approximately 16 years where it was driven sparingly, accumulating just over 8,000 additional kilometers before being sold to its third and current owner in 2018.
Today, this Diablo is in great driver quality condition benefiting from a recent mechanical servicing in the fall of 2024 which included all fluids and filters. Ahead of the sale, we added fresh Michelin summer tires front and rear, performed an alignment, and a comprehensive detail which compliments the car wonderfully. It is a very original example with original interior, partial original paint, factory stickers still in place, and a whole host of other hallways of originality that we like to see. There are only a few deviations from stock which include an aftermarket exhaust, red painted calipers, and aftermarket rear spoiler albeit nearly factory looking.
Included in the sale of this Diablo are its books and manuals, 1 key, and a clean Carfax.
