Originally unveiled at the 2006 Paris Motor Show, the R8 was initially fitted with a 4.2 liter V8 which spun over 8,000rpms and made 420 horsepower. It was essentially the same engine in the B7 RS4, except this unit was upgraded with a dry-sump oiling system. The Audi R8 also featured magnetic ride suspension, which was all-new at the time and gave drivers an extra level of control over the driving experience.
In 2009, in order to address some of the deficiencies of the original car, Audi opted to offer the model with the coveted 5.2 liter V10 found in the Lamborghini Gallardo. This motor made around 525 horsepower and revved all the way to 8,700rpms and took the R8 to a whole new level of performance, especially since the 6-speed manual was retained as an option.
In 2012, the R8 received a facelift which included updated headlights, new 19-inch wheels, sports seats and infotainment. “Plus” models featured carbon ceramic brakes and a power bump to 550 horsepower. By 2015, the final year for the first generation R8 virtually all of the models delivered to the U.S featured the faster, more refined dual-clutch transmission. However, only 8 units came fitted with the gated 6-speed manual. Additionally, Audi R8’s from model years 2014 and 2015 are not equipped with magride, instead they use coil springs over hydraulic dampers, an improvement over the previous suspension which was known to be issue prone.
The exceptionally rare 2015 Audi R8 V10 Plus, presented here by Animoya Garage, is the only R8 finished in Daytona Grey Pearl over a Black interior as well as one of 8 examples produced with a 6-speed gated manual transmission.
Originally headed for Oregon, the selling dealer, Audi Beaverton, immediately sold the car to a buyer in New Jersey who 8 days later exported the car to Canada in August of 2015. The R8 would remain in Quebec for roughly 6 years before being purchased by a dealer who then sold it to a gentleman in Alberta in April of 2021. Various service records over the course of original ownership show frequent servicing and maintenance. In late 2021, the car was purchased by a dealer in California where it was sparingly driven for a couple of years only adding roughly 400 miles before heading to Wisconsin with its current owner and consignor in 2024. In late 2025 the R8 received a basic service which included an oil change, brake fluid change, and a routine inspection.
Today, this example presents beautifully in nearly new condition with a mere 7,821 miles. The paint is exceptional and the car still retains PPF that was applied to key high-impact areas such as the front bumper, hood, headlights, A-pillars, and more. The first generation Audi R8 is aging gracefully and is truly one of the best looking supercars of its era. To find all of these things together in a single cohesive package puts the R8 experience akin to cars in much higher price brackets. With only 8 V10 Plus examples produced for 2015 and modern analog supercars driving the enthusiast market, we believe these will continue to appreciate.
Included in the sale of this R8 is the window sticker, 2 keys, books and manuals, factory tool set, service records, and clean CARFAX.
