Regarded as one of the most iconic cars of the 1990s, the Dodge Viper GTS greatly called back to the sports cars of the past. The closed coupe, with its double-bubble roofline and fastback form, took design cues from Pete Brock’s Shelby Daytona and allowed for helmet usage. Poised for track use, the GTS made for an attractive yet aggressive alternative to the offerings from Europe and Japan. The GTS is what would eventually evolve over 3 more generations into the Viper that was released in 2013.
In 2013, Dodge unveiled what would be the final Viper generation, and it again stayed true to its original roots. A massive V-10 engine (this time 8.4 liters - and the most torque offered from a naturally aspirated engine at the time), no traction control, rear-wheel drive, and side-piped exhaust. Dodge also took advantage of modern materials improvements and used carbon fiber for the massive hood, roof, and trunk. All in, the final generation of viper weighed in right around the same as the 1996 GTS Coupe. In 2015, the Viper was introduced with an all-new limited edition model dubbed the “T/A 2.0”. This variant added a special aerodynamics package which included new front dive planes, carbon fiber splitter, and a large rear wing that added over 200lbs of downforce at 150mph. In addition to the aerodynamic bits the interior featured fiberglass racing seats and production was capped at 96 units, 32 of these units to be finished in Y’Orange.
It is clear there is a strong demand for sportscars like the Viper which are completely uncompromising and totally analog when looking at the values of these cars over the last 5 years. The final generation Viper will remain a historic remnant of an automotive era that can no longer be repeated.
The 2015 Dodge Viper TA 2.0 offered here, chassis #1C3ADEAZ9FV510284 is 1 of just 32 examples produced in Y’Orange out of a total 96 T/A 2.0s produced. This example has just 15,800 miles and 3 owners, 1 of them spanning 9 years.
This Viper TA was originally delivered to Nyle Maxwell, a Chrysler Dodge Jeep dealer in Austin, TX with the optional TA 2.0 package which cost an additional $17,000 over base MSRP. The car traded hands to a different dealer in Texas who added the Arrow Stage 2 Heads & Cam kit by PreFix at a total cost of $14,250 before finally selling to an end user in Florida on October 14th, 2016. The second owner owned the car all the way until the end of 2025, putting around 14,000 miles on the car in their near decade of ownership and passed the car along to their son, the consignor, effectively making this car just 2 owners from new. Frequent servicing was done by a shop local to the family in Florida.
Today, this TA 2.0 presents in great condition and has clearly been cared for. The exterior of the car is free from any major blemishes thanks to the PPF on the front, however it does appear slightly aged and we would recommend replacing it for an even cleaner look. The interior of the car has virtually no wear and the engine bay is incredibly tidy. As values rise on these exceptionally raw sportscars it cannot be understated how rare the TA 2.0 is. Just 96 were built, which makes the model even rarer than the more aggressively kitted ACR and ACR-E and very rarely do they come up for sale. As this Viper sits with the Header & Cam Kit from PreFix, it makes roughly 730hp, this level of performance is essentially impossible to find at this price point, and with less than 4,000 units of the Gen V Viper produced it is highly collectable.
Included in the sale of this Viper is the original window sticker, sealed user guide, books and manuals, tire inflator kit, clean Carfax, and the Viper-branded car cover.
